Introduction to coaching skills for Personal Advisors
After this module delegates will:
- Develop an understanding of the role of coaching in a PA environment
- Appreciate when to take a coaching, mentoring or advice giving approach
- Be able to use basic coaching techniques
- Have increased confidence in using coaching techniques
Helping others identify and overcome barriers to inclusion
After this module delegates will:
- Develop techniques to create an open environment for honest communication
- Have techniques to coach clients to self-identify barriers
- Be able to use a simple problem solving model with their clients
- Have experience of coaching clients through common barriers to inclusion
Building motivation in others
After this module delegates will:
- Develop an understanding of how they are motivated
- Be able to talk to clients from a position of what motivates the client
- Be confident in empowering clients
- Have some techniques to create buy-in from clients to achieve their goals
Keeping clients on track
After this module delegates will:
- Have techniques to maintain client motivation
- Have strategies for dealing with the highs and lows of the client journey
- Have an awareness of, and skills to deal with, their own expectations of clients
- Have techniques for helping clients deal with self doubt and rejection
Follow up/coaching supervision
This module looks at any issues PA’s have had in using these techniques and provides additional support for the effective use
of coaching skills.
